Spring Fling in Lancaster County – 11 Great Things to Do This April!

Things To Do

Ready for a Spring Fling in beautiful Lancaster County?

Great, because I have a list of adventures, and all are just a few minutes’ drive from accommodations at Olde Square Inn, your Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast. I got you covered!

  1. Book Sale in Elizabethtown.

Do you love to read as much as I do? Here’s a chance to stock up on a few favorites and find some treasures you never knew you wanted at a great price.  You’ll be helping yourself and supporting a local library. April 3 – 6.

  1. Best Kept Secrets Tour.

The most fun you can have for $12.  Your ticket gets you a map of a bunch of cool businesses off the beaten path.  There’s some kind of treat or discount for you at each place you visit. You get to scope out some unique places and have more than 2 weeks to do it! April 4-20

  1. Cherry Blossom Festival in Marietta.

It’s like a street fair lined with 150 Cherry Trees in bloom. There are 4 stages, 8 performing groups, over 40 artisans and vendors, and food and beverage trucks. And guess what? It’s FREE! April 13.

  1. Open Mic Night for Old Farts.

They don’t really call it that. It’s really “55+ Open Mic Night” at Bube’s Brewery.  Maybe I’ll see you there. 6-9pm – you’ll be home in time for bed. April 15.

  1. Plein Air Art Show & Sale.

Fifty juried artists will have spent the day outdoors creating art. What they created will be on display and for sale. Maybe you’ll discover the next Georgia O’Keefe. April 18 – 21.

  1. Revolutionary War Medicine.

At Historic Rockford, Thomas Plott will take on the persona of Dr. James Craik, the first Physician General of the US. Craik was also George Washington’s friend and personal doc. You’ll be entertained as you learn about 18th century tools and strange medical practices. April 20.

  1. Spring Antiques Extravaganza.

Adamstown, also known as “Antiques Capital USA” is ready for this huge event with 22 big and small shops participating.  They’re offering extended hours and discounts, and you’re sure to find a great treasure! April 24 – 28.

  1. Annual Plant Exchange – Mary Oehme Garden

Basically, you rid your garden of extra perennials, pot them, label them, then exchange them for something new. It’s a 1:1 trade and a good way to get new things for your yard for freeApril 28.

  1. Buggy Ride through Amish Country.

Feel the wind whip through your hair (maybe) as your guide trots your horse and buggy through the land of the Amish. What a great thing to do on a beautiful spring day.  Even better, here’s a $2 coupon! Mon-Fri. April.

  1. International Walking Food Tour.

An experienced guide takes you on a food tour around Lancaster City. You get to sample food and drinks from seven different fabulous places as well as engaging in other food-related experiences. Food, exercise, and beautiful weather. Can’t miss! All month.

  1. Sight & Sound.

“Daniel” opened in March, and I’m telling you again, if you want to see the show any time this year, look at tickets now. Believe it or not, many performances are already sold out! Here’s some good news, though. We have a partnership with Sight & Sound and can pass along a 10% discount on your tickets. Call or email me and I’ll tell you how easy it is. Now-December 31.
