14 Things to Do to Start Your Summer in Lancaster County

Let’s get this Lancaster County summer started!

Book your room at the Inn, enjoy breakfast on the porch, sit poolside, and have then have a beautiful evenng on the Grand Balcony. When your rested and read to get up and go, here’s what you do.

Now through the end of June:

  1. To June 22. The Full Monty at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.  Have dinner then get an eyeful of some unemployed steel workers as they hatch a scheme to make some quick cash.
  2. June 22 & 23. Lititz Fine Arts Craft Show at Foundry 48. If you’re looking for “cutting edge, contemporary, and upscale home furnishings, jewelry and accoutrements…,” this is the place to be.
  3. June 27 & 28. Riverfest in Columbia is a celebration over a Civil War bridge burning. With the trolley tours, boat tours, bank tours, and the markets, and Clydesdales, and races, and food, you’ll find something to do.
  4. June 28. Fourth Friday Downtown Mount Joy.  It’s Customer Appreciation! Shops and restaurants will have specials and small gifts as a thank-you for supporting our small business. With your stay of  any 2 or more nights from June 25 – 30, we’ll appreciate you with our fabulous Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Our compliments!
  5. June 28 – 30. Antiques Extravaganza in Adamstown.  More vendors, more dealers, more bargains! It’s the perfect time to hunt down that thing you’ve always wanted.
  6. June 29. Paranormal Investigation at Bube’s Brewery. In this hands-on experience, you’ll learn about ghost hunting, the tools of the trade, and all things paranormal. Are you scared yet?
  7. June and July – International Walking Food Tour in Downtown Lancaster.  Smal-group tour of interesting places to eat with divers cuisines. Wear your stretchy pants.

Looking ahead to July:

  1.  July 4. Marietta, PA Fireworks at 9:15 Weather permitting.
  2. Stone Gables Estates Fireworks Extravaganza. Take a self-guided tour around beautiful Stone Gable Estates where you’ll find performers, yard games, a petting zoo, and the Sower & Seed gift shop. You can also purchase food. Your entry includes an amazng evening of fireworks display.
  3. July 6. Picnic Tasting Tour at Kitchen Kettle Vllage. Your ticket gets you a morning of generous special samples, personalized service, and a little bit of history around the Village.  It’s a self-guided tour, so you can take your time and move at your leisure.
  4. July 13. 15th Annual Blues & Brews at Mount hope.  All the food you’d like o eat, unlimited drinks, great entertainment – everything included in your ticket price.
  5. Anytime. Covered Bridge Driving Tour. It’s a fabulous time of year to wend your way around Lancaster County. What a better way to do it than to visit some landmark covered bridges with a self-paced tour.  Start with Historic Rivertows and Western Villages.
  6. More anytime. Strasburg Scooters has a Covered Bridge Tour as well! In addition to those bridges you can also take a gander at old schoolhouses and Amish farms. You’ll ride your scooter along country back roads o this fun guided tour. Other tours are available as well!
  7. Last but not least. Visit Mount Joy’s newest business! Yah Brew has opened at 20-23 Main Street.  Sit outside on the patio and enjoy a beverage and some food. They’ve teamed up with “Hulk Hoagies” – do you love it?!
