13 Things To Do in May in Lancaster County

Ready for a little getaway? Pack your bags, get a sitter for the kids or dogs, and come on out to enjoy a few of the many adventures you'll find in Lancaster County.  There's always something going on just a few minutes away from accommodations at Olde Square Inn!

1.May 4 – Pretzel Fest in Lititz. Sweet and savory pretzel tastings, sips of alcohol, and live music. Purchase your tickets through the Kiwanis Club of Lititz and go get twisted haha!

2. May 4 & 5 – Spring Artwalk in Downtown Lancaster. Walk city streets and see some super cool galleries, open-air exhibits, and studios. You can look, you can buy, you can have a great time. This is also First Friday in Lancaster City.

3. May 10 & 11 – Herb & Garden Faire at Landis Valley Farm Museum. I don’t know why more people don’t know about this!  There are over 65 vendors with plants, crafts, housewares, with food vendors as well. On top of that, it’s a really interesting living museum/village. Tickets are only $12 for adults and $10 for the cool people (aka Seniors).

4. May 12 – Make-A-Wish Truck Convoy through Mount Joy. All these awesome truckers raise money to grant wishes to critically ill kids. They have a parade route that starts in Manheim where there’s a carnival-type thing, then they pass through Mount Joy around 2-ish. Enjoy a super-late Sunday check out and watch from our balcony!

6. May 18 – Heart of Lancaster Arts & Crafts Show at Roots Market. This is free entry and runs 10-4pm, rain or shine. They have a variety of art as well as crafts, and they have people demonstrating some of their techniques. I think you’d have fun!

11. May 25 – Lancaster Symphony Orchestra in the Park in Lititz. Free from 7-9pm at the bandshell in Lititz Springs Park.

12. May through December - Daniel at Sight and Sound Theater. I have to say that this is my favorite one so far. The sets, scenery, show, animals, effects – the whole bit. You’ll be blown away! Now, I will say they were a little bit heavy on some of CGI (computer-generated images), but the show still holds as outstanding. Remember we have a partnership with S&S, and when you book your stay at the Inn we’ll book your show tickets at 10% off.

13. Now – Tickets are on sale for NOAH at Sight and Sound. If you’ve ever been to a show, you know the live animals, stages, and special affects make you feel that you’re right there.  Book your room and we’ll book your tickets - don’t miss the boat. (Haha – see what I did there?!) Call me.
