Hiking & Biking
This beautiful park has paved trails for both biking and walking that stretch from Marietta to Columbia. Chickies Rock Outfitters is located in Columbia and is ready to supply you with bikes, kayaks and paddleboats as well instructors. Chickies Rock County Park is located just 14 minutes from accommodations at Olde Square Inn.
In this natural, undeveloped park, you’ll find scenic woods and a diversity of wildlife habitats. Native woodland wildflowers and plants are in bloom from April through September. There is a hiking trail through the woods and a small parking area.
Middle Creek is a state game lands known for its birding. A spectacular event of snow geese migration occurs in February/March and draws watchers from around the country. The visitors’ center has exhibits as well as mapped hikes through the natural trails.
Columbia Crossing River Trail Center
Enjoy the beautiful 14-mile trail for hiking and biking starting at the Columbia Crossing Center. In addition to educational programs, there is also a seasonal outfitter on site for kayak, canoe and bike rentals with shuttle service.
