We’ve Made A Few Changes To Help Keep You Safe

Olde Square Inn

Enter as Guests, Leave as Friends

Welcome to Olde Square Inn! When you walk through our doorway you’re personally greeted by your Innkeeper who is ready to show you around, offer you a glass of wine, and answer any questions you might have about your stay or the area. You can relax knowing you’re in good hands!

What can you expect? In the morning you’ll awaken to the delicious aroma of three-course, home-made breakfast, served from 8:30-9:30 in the dining room or the charming side porch in warm weather. Maybe you’ll hear the clip-clop of an Amish horse and buggy moving down Main Street in the early morning!

Enjoy our large common area. Put your feet up, grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and make yourself at home. Look through our DVD library and select a movie to watch when you later escape to your room. You might even choose to relax poolside in the summer or curl up with a book in front of the fireplace when winter keeps you cozy.

Step away from the Inn and you’ll find many things to do in our charming town. Walk down Main Street and discover take-home treasures in the shops or grab something scrumptious at one of our many great restaurants. Be sure to check out our Fourth Friday events: our Chocolate Walk, Art Fest, Car Show, and Blues, Brews, & Barbecue just to name a few.

We always have great ideas for places to visit and sights to see, and we are just minutes from Highway 283/30. That means you can get to Hershey, Lancaster, Lititz, and the Amish Countryside in no time. With Mount Joy’s new Amtrak station only two blocks away, a quick day trip to Philly could be part of your plans

Give us a call or make your reservations directly through our website for an immediate booking. As we like to say, you’ll “Enter as guests and leave as friends!”

The Inn

This three-story brick Colonial Revival home was built in the early 1920s by Howard G. Longenecker, a prominent Mount Joy citizen who made his money in banking and tobacco. A family home for years, it later was a boarding house for male teachers in the 1950s and 60s before becoming the bed and breakfast it is today.

The building still retains its distinctive architectural features including original doors, thick mouldings and columns, built-in cabinets, and even a butler’s call station in the kitchen. Although you can still see the call buttons in the rooms, the bells are no longer connected to the kitchen, much to the delight of the innkeeper!

What Our Guests Are Saying

My husband and I wanted to get-away for the weekend for our 28th Anniversary. We were researching B&B’s near wineries and we found the Olde Square Inn. I can honestly say this was one of the best B&B’s we have stayed in. Nancy was the most pleasant and accommodating innkeeper we have ever met.

The Inn was beautiful and we loved our room. It was also so clean and immaculate. When we checked in and Nancy brought us to our room, she offered us a carafe of wine….so thoughtful. She also gave us plenty of suggestions for pubs and taverns walking distance from the Inn.

Nancy is also a fabulous cook and the breakfasts she prepared were absolutely delicious and plentiful!! It was our first time visiting Mount Joy and we truly had a wonderful visit. Can’t wait to go back to the Olde Square Inn!!!

Meet the Innkeeper

Olde Square Inn Innkeeper with a green apron holding a piece of strudel

In its 40+ years as a lodging, Nancy is the third Innkeeper at Olde Square Inn and is fulfilling a long-time dream in becoming its caretaker. Before purchasing the Inn, she had a great career in teaching and for 24 Septembers led fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in a variety of studies, including HomeEc.

She has created a warm and inviting escape where guests can enjoy some much-needed time away. A long-time Lancaster County resident, Nancy has a wide knowledge of the best things to see and do in the area and is passionate about guiding her visitors in making the most of each stay. Whether that stay includes touring the county, relaxing on the porch, or enjoying dinner at a local restaurant, guests can count on taking home some great memories.

Among its many awards, Olde Square Inn has been voted the #1 Bed and Breakfast in Lancaster County on Trip Advisor and continues to earn 5 Stars for excellent customer service. The Inn has been featured in a variety of local magazines to include the cover story of Inns and B&Bs of Lancaster County. In LCM, Lancaster County Magazine, the Inn was written up as a great venue for intimate weddings and elopements.

What do Innkeepers do when they’re not busy keeping an Inn? If not in the kitchen trying out new recipes for her live cooking demonstrations, Nancy will be found spending time with one of the grandkids, sipping a cocktail on the porch, reading through a stack of books, or enjoying the company of friends.

Nancy welcomes you to become part of the Olde Square Inn family!
