Did somebody say Taste Sensations?! Sophisticated or otherwise, you and your palate are going to love these September food events. I have some treats already picked out. Which ones are you going to enjoy?
Sept 10 – 16 RESTAURANT WEEK
Restaurants, diners, cafes and breweries in downtown Lancaster are offering great deals during Restaurant Week
. I’m going to Pour Restaurant for the Duck Fat Fries then to Citronelle for Creamy Crab Croquettes (Say that one five times fast).
Sept 14 – 15 TAILGATING FESTIVAL
Kitchen Kettle Village is celebrating autumn and tailgating season
with burgers, salads, salsas, bacon and lots of activities. They will also have all kinds of pumpkin flavored items for you pumpkin fans. My bad self will stay far away
from all foods pumpkin and will gravitate more toward the bacon.
Sept 22 BASH & BENEFIT
Food, music, wine, beer slushies, and the great outdoors. Want more? Enter the grape stomping contest – maybe you’ll win a purple ribbon. Ha! I’m going to pop into the Tasting Room to sample the Blushing Ambrosia.
Sept 25 – 29 EPHRATA STREET FAIR
Who wants to miss the Largest Street Fair in Pennsylvania
? No one, that’s who! Everyone loves a local fair where you get to ride the rides, eat great food, and see who won the 100 Button Display Contest. But back to the food – I’m opting for the pit beef, fried mushrooms, a funnel cake and a caramel apple. That’s a lot.
Sept 28 BLUES, BREWS & BARBECUES
It’s Mount Joy’s 4th Friday and it’s Olde Square Inn’s FIRST time offering live music! Whaat?! That’s right, live music from 5 – 8pm on our porch for all 4th Friday Folks to enjoy. Comp brews for guests at the Inn
, and too many food choices available to just pick one.
Tues, Fri, Sat RED ROSE WALKING FOOD TOUR
Check out this post from Authentic Bed and Breakfast
. Lancaster City is so rich in history and architecture, and now they’ve paired a guided walk with food samples. It’s a fitness guru’s delight: you can walk off whatever you eat. My choice is any
delicious pasta salad from the Goodie Shop at Central Market.
