OLD TIME RICE PUDDING The Ultimate Comfort Food

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup long grain rice (scant)
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of raisins


Combine rice, milk, sugar and salt; pour into a greased baking dish. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Then add lemon peel, nutmeg and raisins and bake for another 2 hours. It is very rich and creamy. This rice pudding is an old family recipe. It takes a long time to bake, but it is definatly worth the effort.
