ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Welcome to Olde Square Inn! When you walk through our doorway you're personally greeted by me, your Innkeeper. I'm ready to show you around, offer you a glass of wine, and answer any questions you might have about your stay or the area. You can relax knowing you're in good hands

There are great things ahead of you! In the morning you'll awaken to the delicious aroma of three-course, home-made breakfast, served from 8:30-9:30 in the dining room or the charming side porch in warm weather. Maybe you'll hear the clip-clop of an Amish horse and buggy moving down Main Street in the early morning – very Lancaster County!

Enjoy our large common area. Put your feet up, grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and make yourself at home. Look through our DVD library and select a movie to watch when you later escape to your room. You might even choose to relax poolside in the summer or curl up with a book in front of the fireplace when winter keeps you cozy.

Step away from the Inn and you'll find plenty to do in our charming town. Walk down Main Street and discover take-home treasures in the shops or grab something scrumptious at one of our many restaurants. Be sure to check out our Fourth Friday events: our Chocolate Walk, Art Fest, Car Show, and Blues, Brews, & Barbecue just to name a few.

I've got great ideas for places to visit and sights to see, the Inn is just minutes from Highway 283/30. That means you can get to Hershey, Lancaster, Lititz, and the Amish Countryside in no time. With Mount Joy's new Amtrak station only two blocks away, a quick day trip to Philly could be part of your plans!

Give us a call or make your reservations directly through our website for an immediate booking. As we like to say, you'll "Enter as guests and leave as friends!"

The Inn

This three-story brick Colonial Revival home was built in the early 1920s by Howard G. Longenecker, a prominent Mount Joy citizen who made his money in banking and tobacco. A family home for years, it later was a boarding house for male teachers in the 1950s and 60s before becoming the bed and breakfast it is today.

The building still retains its distinctive architectural features including original doors, thick mouldings and columns, built-in cabinets, and even a butler’s call station in the kitchen. Although you can still see the call buttons in the rooms, the bells are no longer connected to the kitchen, much to the delight of the innkeeper!

What Our Guests Are Saying

I can honestly say this was one of the best B&B's we have stayed in. Nancy was the most pleasant and accommodating innkeeper we have ever met…and is also a fabulous; the breakfasts were absolutely delicious and plentiful!! It was our first time visiting Mount Joy and we truly had a wonderful visit. Can't wait to go back to the Olde Square Inn!!!

Meet Your Innkeeper

Olde Square Inn Innkeeper with a green apron holding a piece of strudel

In its 30+ years as a lodging, I am delighted to be the third Innkeeper at Olde Square Inn. Becoming its caretaker has been the fulfillment of a life-long dream. Before purchasing the Inn, I had a wonderful career in teaching. For 24 Septembers I led fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in a variety of studies – including Home Ec!

I’ve enjoyed creating a warm and inviting escape for you. You can revel in some much-needed relaxation at the Inn, then take some time to go out and explore. As long-time Lancaster County resident, I have my finger on the best things to see and do in the area. I am passionate about guiding you in making the most of your stay.

Among its many awards, Olde Square Inn has been voted the #1 Bed and Breakfast in Lancaster County on Trip Advisor. We continue to earn 5 Stars for excellent customer service each year. Our Inn was featured as the cover story for Inns and B&Bs of Lancaster County and in Lancaster County Magazine was touted as a great venue for elopements and intimate weddings.

So what does an Innkeeper do when she’s not busy keeping an Inn? If I’m not trying out new recipes for my live cooking demos, you can find me with the grandkids, reading through a stack of books, or enjoying the company of friends.

I am so happy to invite you to become part of the Olde Square Inn family!
